OUR SPARE TIME DURING THE CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA - By Harrison Leach

On Monday the 17th of June, Rooms 1, 2 and 8  went on a cultural extravaganza to learn about why people came to New Zealand and to watch cultural performances. But I’m not here to tell you about that, I’m here to tell you about what we did in our spare time. We split the classes Room 1 and half of Room 2 went into Te papa while Room 8 and the other half of Room 2 stayed outside and had free time .When Rooms 1 and 2 had finished in Te papa we swapped over. Potato chips were consumed and hunger was vanquished. After we had eaten our food we dashed to the playground and bought ice-creams which were delicious, though some of us were still hungry. Suddenly we thought that we had to head back to the meeting place (outside Te papa ) because none of us remembered what time we had to be back, but it turns out we were wrong. We ran into Miss Clark and she asked us what we were doing we told her that we were heading back and she was heading to the playground so we decided to go with her. On the way there we stopped by a small rock pool to search for starfish (Actually we were having a look at the destitute remains of a TV that was in the water beside the rock pools) we went down and examined the starfish; some of us got to pick them up. Cam Preston picked up the biggest starfish and won the "biggest starfish competition". Well done Cam!!
